Meet Thomas M. Basch, MD

Dr. Basch graduated from Knox College in 1985, cum laude and a member of Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. He attended University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, served as a surgical intern and then as a resident in anesthesiology at the university. While in training, Dr. Basch served as a clinical scientist, studying the anatomy and physiology of neuropathic pain. In 1994, he became a board-certified anesthesiologist and moved to Grand Rapids to begin his career. In 1996, Dr. Basch chose to focus exclusively upon pain management at St. Mary’s Hospital (now Trinity Health) before joining Michigan Pain Consultants in 2003.

While at MPC, Dr. Basch co-founded Revive, which allowed him to divide his time between interventional pain management and the emerging field of wellness/anti-aging medicine. In 2023, he made Revive his singular focus. 

Dr. Basch never lost his passion for treating patients struggling with pain. In 2025, Dr, Basch saw an opportunity to build a unique practice merging wellness/anti-aging medicine, fitness, and interventional pain management. Revive Pain Solutions Grand Rapids is the result of this effort. Built upon 30 years of clinical experience and expertise, Revive provides unique treatments that are integrative, highly individualized, and intensely restorative.
