What is Vampire® Hand Rejuvenation?
Aging hands with thinning skin and wrinkles are primarily due to the skin’s inability to renew collagen and elastin. Vampire Hand Rejuvenation at Revive Aesthetic and Wellness is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes an advanced regenerative procedure called platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to restore volume and a more natural look to thinning and damaged hands due to age, sun exposure, and overuse.
Our blood is comprised of red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma proteins, and platelets. Platelets are the first responder to any trauma within the body. They are known to release powerful growth factors into the bloodstream that stimulates advanced healing in soft tissue.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) represents an advanced therapy that allows physicians the ability to isolate and concentrate the platelets found within the blood. The result is a potent solution of natural protein-rich growth factors that have the ability to amplify your body’s mechanism for self-repair on a cellular level.
The Vampire® Hand Rejuvenation Process?
Once you are onsite and ready for treatment at Revive, one of our physicians will extract a small amount of your blood. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge, effectively separating the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood components. This highly concentrated platelet-rich plasma is then injected in its natural state, just below the surface of the skin, prompting new blood flow and increased collagen to flood the area to help restore and regenerate damaged skin.
When Will You Notice the Results?
Improvement of skin texture and tone can be noticeable with improvement continuing for the next 3 months as the new collagen is formed under the skin surface. As the PRP stimulates healing, collagen remodeling, circulation and healthy tissue regeneration, patients will see texture, tone and color improvement within three weeks. Noticeable will continue for the next three months, ultimately peaking in 6 to 12 months. The results typically last 12-18 months or longer.
